UPGRADING KEYMOUSE ALPHA

We're working on some 3D printed parts, etc. for a DIY upgrade kit. The PCB size is different, and the USB port locations are different, so some manual modification will be needed for sure, but technically should be possible. After we get caught up on production, we'll put together a document or video for upgrading to the new PCB.

Note: upgrading loses wireless functionality in favor of a less complicated design, firmware, etc. + allows us more control over future firmware updates.

do yall have a time frame on when you would have the 3D printed part files out?

Hi Brett. Since the new PCB size is different, it is probably easier to 3D print a new bottom housing (compatible with KeyMouse Alpha 104-110) and purchase ceramic feet & 2 Main PCB 3.0s. Keep in mind, if you are going to 3D print the housing on your own you would have to purchase the ceramic feet from Amazon as we cannot directly sell them due to contract reasons. You can gain access to the STL files of the new bottom housing & leveling feet if you sign & email us the KeyMouse Maker agreement at support@keymouse.com.

You would be paying for 2 new PCBs and the Ceramic feet (5 ceramic feet needed per hand).

where can I find the install guide for the 300 series keymouse or is it the same as the 100 series?

I just received the upgrade kit for the keymouse alpha. my computer does not seem to want to read the USB going into the computer and I am getting a (code 43) I'm not sure what to do to make them work. The software does not see them either.

Hi Brett. Sorry for the late responses. We currently don't have the 300 series assembly documentation done for Alpha. I have included a picture of what the inside of your right-hand device should look like. This is how you should be connecting the keys: https://www.screencast.com/t/pc8k9wR3FsR The scroll wheel should have its pins facing as shown in the attached picture unless your scroll wheel is inverted. In that case, you would turn the scroll wheel cable upside down when connecting to the PCB.

Here are a few things I failed to mention previously.
1. Once you plug everything in correctly, you will need to do a firmware update on the latest version of KeyMouse Software.
2. After doing a firmware update, you will need to assign which hand is which. This can be done by opening up the firmware update tab, selecting your device, clicking advanced, and choosing left or right-hand device. 3. Save your layouts to your KeyMouse devices and test all keys.

Are you plugging in the devices correctly to your computer and to each other? In our startup guide, we include a diagram on page 3 on how to plug in the devices. Unlike the 100 series devices, you have to connect the hands together using the serial port (right port looking topdown on both hands.) We have included a USB mini to USB mini cable in your package.

Thanks for the help. I ended up finding out that I had a bad driver on the home computer. That is why it was not connecting. Thanks for the additional help as well.
